MARINE OUTREACH
Arctic Mercy is in the infancy of development and has incredible potential. The long-term vision is to take supplies for building churches, teacher housing, medical facilities and whatever other needs we can provide in the name of Christ to a needy community as a means to gain access into these communities – either for YWAMers or others that we are partnering with. We need workers and harvesters to be on the following teams:
Scout Teams: a small team that identifies needs and plans for a vessel to take supplies to that community;
Supply/ Construction Teams: a team that would work to gather, load and transport materials and build the facility;
Long-term Ministry Teams: A team with any mix of the following components: teacher, medical personnel, and ministers that would stay in the community. State Senator Lisa Murkowski identified in her State of the State address in 2003 that a significant need in the rural communities was for teacher housing. Lack of teacher housing contributes to the high turn-over rate of teachers. In one case, the teacher lives in the classroom closet! God spoke clearly that this is something the Body of Christ can work to accommodate and also provide teachers and other support/ministry personnel to stay in the community;
Logistical Support: personnel who would stay in close contact with the team and work as a liaison for their needs.
